The big little one turns 3!

July 13, 2009

We celebrated the toddler's THIRD! birthday with a gathering of friends and family yesterday and a day full of play and his favorite foods today. His construction themed party kept me thinking creatively, especially when he specified a cake that WAS a bulldozer. We decked the dining room table out in building plans, caution tape, and orange cones.

There was a whole new sign put up on our "banner" string. I used letters from his recently made Urban Alphabet cards.

His bulldozer cake. He loved it so much that he's still certain it was his favorite part of his birthday; makes a mama smile all over!

He's spent hours enjoying his new city. If you haven't checked out Plan Toys, do so. My boys have LOVED everything they've gotten made by Plan, and the Plan City stuff is really great! I really love listening to the conversations he has with the people and himself while he plays with this.

The mama-made gift was a VW Beetle mirror to hang on the wall over the dresser in his room. No one correctly guessed it, but Barb did get awfully close and guess enough to earn a gift. Don't know what it will be yet, but I'll reveal that one soon too.

There were also tire cupcakes for after dinner out at his favorite place tonight.

Happy birthday big guy! I can't believe you are three! I love you!

I was looking for tire cupcakes online and could not find any until I happened upon your blog. Thanks for the idea I couldn't get from Betty Crocker!
