That's the latest addition to the collection of blocks for the Super Secret Surprise for hubby. I mentioned last week that I would show you proof of my continuing to knit something that I knew wouldn't turn out. I was wrong, I think...
You can't really tell in the photo, but the center of the square is a bit, well, baggy. I kept knitting in hopes that when it came off the needles it would all just stretch/shrink into place. And mostly I was able to stretch it into shape. I do think that once this block is joined with the others it will really not be so noticeable. But while I was knitting it I was certain that I would be frogging the entire thing! I do have to say that it took me longer to complete simply because I felt I was conducting an exercise in futility.
I've already cast on for another block! I'm needing mindless knitting right now, and these blocks are mostly mind-numbing garter stitch with the log cabin thing thrown in just to keep it interesting. The baby is going through another one of those hang-out-awake-at-night phases, so I'm pretty tired and thinking about lace or an actual garment, well, is just out of the question.
Looks good - maybe you'll share with me the next time we talk? LOL
