In an effort to actually stay off my feet, I did not bother to take any pictures of my progress. And the sun has still not shone, so there aren't any pix of the toddler's new stuff either.
A couple of weeks ago, the toddler and I did manage a trip to Lawrence during which we visited the Yarnbarn and exchanged the offending broken swift. I hit a stand still on the Hoover blanket when I ran out of yarn that was wound into balls. The new swift came out of its box. Turns out that you can sit down while you wind yarn. Also turns out that winding yarn is as fun and relaxing as everyone said it is.
The baby seems to be swiftly coming as well. No matter how much I sit on the couch with my feet propped up or how much water I consume, I can't seem to stop the occasional contraction from happening. And it seems as though the occasional contractions are, well, doing their job. It's getting harder to go up and down the stairs, the little one just keeps dropping lower and lower. I can even be quoted as having said that my doctor is nuts; I don't want to feel like this for another week and a half. I remember distinctly feeling like this less than a week before the toddler was born; I knew he was coming soon. Now I feel like I have to prolong something that is mostly beyond my control. And I'm still convinced that we're two weeks farther along than the doc thinks we are; which puts us at 37 weeks tomorrow. The toddler was born at just over 37 weeks. If you ask me, this is just all normal for my body.
I promise to keep you all posted. Hope things are swift in you world as well.
I hope you are feeling as well as possible, and good luck with the timetable of events. Also, the baby will love the Hoover blanket no matter when it is done. Hope to see you soon!
