Glass Half Full

At last measure, I was only an inch shy of being halfway finished with the Hoover blanket. And upon doing the math, you know, how long I've been working on it versus when I'm due, I don't think I'm on track to have it finished before the baby arrives. In an effort to be optimistic, I've decided to just keep plugging away and hope that I get there. I'll feel good about it either way, and I keep telling myself that it's a fair chunk of knitting.

I'm still loving the Blue Sky organic cotton yarn. It's yummy soft and slides nicely on the needles. I'm just not getting along very well with my Denise needles these days. I'm considering investing in something else in a size 9 to finish the blanket, seeing as I'm only half-way along and all.

The bathroom has not changed. We've taken a much needed breather from the fumes and work for the beginning of this week, but the guys are headed up to look at the electrical tonight and I will probably start hanging the accent tile tomorrow afternoon. It's a small glass tile that I'll have to use a different adhesive for, so I figure I can knock it out first.

I'm also nearing the half-way mark on a fabric box to hold diapers in the toddler's new room. Yep, he moved downstairs just over a week ago. I just haven't gotten pictures taken of the finished curtains and crib skirt yet. His room is not complete; we still need artwork for the walls, a lamp or two, a rug, a cushion for his window seat, and the fabric box. I'll try to get pix taken today, but the best time to have out a camera is when he's asleep...

Maybe some Addi's? I don't know what your personal taste in needles is!

Don't forget those priorities, and I'm sorry to say, knowing your artistic tendencies, that the baby probably would rather have a rested mommy than a decorated bathroom.....

I like that Jill Phillips song; Natalie Grant has an awful lot of very good lyrics for 'life' as well.

Rest!!!

It is a beautiful blanket and it will get done when it gets done. The baby will not notice the crib, the blankets, or even the color of the wall - just that mommy and daddy love him/her very much!!
