Broken

April 02, 2008

I seriously considered taking a picture of the evidence, but I don't think I can do a broken Denise knitting needle justice with the equipment I have. Yep, I broke the end off of one of the cables for my interchangeables while working on the Hoover Blanket night before last. Then I spent a good chunk of my knitting time last night moving all 230 stitches to another cable.

Turns out that I'm broken too. I've reached that place where you just have to give up. I think it's part of God's plan for us to sometimes be broken down, and I don't think of it as a bad thing at all. I've put many of my own goals on hold for the time being for my own emotional sanity, and I'm finding that it's making it much easier for me to happily focus on the things that I am able to get done.

My ultimate goal is to be a producing textile artist. And I have to keep reminding myself that there is plenty of time for me to accomplish that goal later.

Oh, and I think I might be in the market soon for a new set of interchangeable knitting needles. Any recommendations?

What can I do to help?

Yep, we find out that we need Him, and we find out how much better we are *with* Him, when we're broken!

I used to have a really hard time with the whole idea of "seasons of life", but once I figured out how much more peaceful life was when I just allowed myself to be a mom, it was easier!

Got to pet some of the Blue Sky at the knitting-guild-thing yesterday; I still think that's my most favorite cotton ever, and your blanket is going to be amazing!

No recommendations on needles...the only interchangeables I've ever used were a set of of my Grandma's, and they were pretty stinky, so I'm kinda turned off to the whole idea...

Hope to see you Wednesday!
