We had a wonderful weekend. The weather was decidedly un-winter like. Today we even made it into the 60's! And yesterday was a breezy 50 something.
My dad came to stay with us for a week; he left today. But while he was here he helped hubby install a new floor in the studio, and he spent a lot of time distracting the toddler from being sick. He also did dishes, a lot of them. He will be missed. The sink even has a few knives in it needing him as we speak. ;)
Yesterday he and I took the toddler to Wonderscope. We had an absolute blast! Today hubby and I took him to the park to play. It's been so nice to get out for a while.
The toddler loves balls. Every ball in the house, including all the dog's balls, and a few of his other toys has gone through the basketball hoop since Christmas. Yesterday he toddled over to the couch, pointed to the ball of yarn I was knitting with and said, "Bay?"; his word for ball. I gave it to him, and he did what he usually does with my ball of yarn. He unfurled it all over the room, except this time he proceeded to take it over to the hoop and toss it through. I can honestly say that it's the first time anyone has ever played basketball with the yarn I was knitting with.
The munchkin also has cute words for all kinds of other things. Broccoli is bra-bra and green beans became mean-means. He loves vegetables, especially green ones. He had mean-means, I mean green beans, for a snack this afternoon. About 30 minutes before we normally eat dinner, and before dinner would be ready tonight, he literally began climbing into his high-chair and asking for mean-means. He polished off all the green beans and begged for more! Including his snack, he probably ate a full cup or more of them. Then he went on to eat his full serving of carrots, a few bites of grilled pork tenderloin, and some wheat bun.
Hope you had a nice warm weekend too. And I hope there's a cute little one in your life to eat gobs of mean-means and throw your bays of yarn through basketball hoops.
I love that little guy and all of his special words. :-)
