It really and truly is crazy here. I've neglected to share that hubby was sick most of last week. And, the poor guy, was finally feeling better when he was in a car accident that totaled our 97 Jeep Wrangler. As if he wasn't busy enough, he had to add hours of phone calls with insurance people to his schedule. Plus, he then had to travel 5 hours each way to Nauvoo with us in the car while he was sore.
I developed a nasty cough shortly after we got back from the funeral in Illinois. Six months pregnant and coughing a lot don't mix well. Let's just say it's made for a little extra laundry at our house. The toddler started coughing yesterday, and this thing we have seems to have made him a little extra cranky, too. Hubby's still sore and don't even get me started on the five teeth one of us has cut since the new year. I think he may have cut more than five, but he's not letting me look or feel without the risk of losing a digit.
It's been super cold here, and we had just enough snow to make the roads slick this morning. But not enough to make it pretty again. Between the colds and teething, it seems like someone is always crabby around here. That is making it seem like winter will never end! And all of it has put me a little behind schedule on everything. It looks like all the swap packages will still go out on time, but the baby shower stuff is, well, not all getting done at the rate I had hoped. I may have to take some things off the list.
On to the good things! I've printed my prints for the Mid-Winter Gocco Print Swap. They don't need to go out until Feb. 11; which is good. I want to add something, but I haven't quite decided what yet.
I'm also finished with my valentines for Sarah's valentine swap. I started with a drawing of the human heart I did a few years back for both swaps. I photocopied it (More like lifted it using a copier right out of another project!), and used my Print Gocco to print it onto a different paper for each swap. The valentines were printed on a paper that contains some flower petals and a little grass. Then I added some other red paper, an inscription, and a heart cut from a sweater I felted. Finally, I backed it all in red card stock that has a bit of sparkle. I like the fact that they are each a little different. I also like the fact that the felt hearts are stitched in place. I love machine sewing things on paper!

Somehow, amidst all the craziness here, I'm still getting things done. I also finished a Sweet Wee Jacket from Amy Karol's Bend the Rules Sewing for the upcoming baby shower. I've had a second one cut and the bias trim made ready all week, but haven't gotten the time to finish it. I promise, just like her last shower, that as soon as the shower is over I'll post pics of all the stuff I made for her. And I'll even try to remember to get a picture of the finished package all put together.
Here's to a good and productive weekend!
Oh man, pregnancy cough is deadly, I used to have to carry extra underwear in my pocket. LOL
I have developed a wicked cough over here also, and I am so ready for it to go away already.
The Valentines look great.
