Fiber-y Goodness

January 04, 2008

My wonderful family spoiled me with gifts and gift certificates to my favorite yarn store for Christmas and my birthday this year. I was able to procure many things I needed to complete the equipment in my studio; plus, I was also able to get the yarn for three projects I've been dying to make.

That linen up there is for a Mason-Dixon Bubbly Curtain to hang over the windows in our front door. It may be the last of these projects to get knit.

I also bought six skeins of Brown Sheep Cotton Fleece to knit myself some Unmentionables. I'm aiming to start these about the time the new babe is born so I can finish them to show off my post baby bod just in time for summer. And the big bonus here was these six skeins were the last in Blush on clearance for 40% off.

That's seven skeins of Blue Sky Organic cotton; three in sage and four in bone to knit a Hoover blanket for the next little one. I've been wanting to knit the blanket for a while. I had planned on knitting it for the toddler, but got side tracked into the Log Cabin I made him when I got the Mason-Dixon book. I think I made the right decision; he now sleeps with his log cabin blanky at night and for every nap. Biggest compliment ever.

And that crummy picture shows my new ball winder, umbrella swift, and niddy noddy. No more winding skeins and balls by hand! I'm a happy knitter!

I promise another post soon. I have much to share. And I even figured out how to post photos using Hubby's Mac instead of mine!
