Everybunny say cheese (or carrots)

The bunnies posed for a class portrait while it was sunny and nice yesterday. There were quite a few tears as one of them (note that there are only 7 in the picture) has already moved on in the mail to a small friend. And I can't say who he went to live with, but the dark blue bunny that was made from hand-dyed flannel will arrive at his new home soon. And I really hope he's loved.
One of the things that I love about hand made stuff is how unique each one turns out. I sat down Sunday evening and embroidered all the bunny faces at once. They each got large french knots for eyes and satin stitched triangle nose/mouth combos. Hand made means that each one ended up with his or her own bunny-ality.
