Uhhh, I guess the fact that I haven't posted gives you some idea of how things have been going. CRAZY!!!
We went to L. A. over Thanksgiving to see Uncle Nick. You'll notice that he posted a Lego Land photo of the little guy to his photo blog. Thanks, Nick. (A copy of that photo and others you took while we were there would make a really nice birthday present for G's mommy. Hint, hint.)
The laundry and packing before the trip prevented blogging. The trip itself was wonderful and I gave myself a much needed break from anything other than knitting when the toddler was asleep and I wasn't. And the two hour time change threw him for a huge loop when we got home. Napping has, apparently, been optional for him this week. We've officially made the transfer to one nap; there's no going back, and it's been tough on all of us. Many of our single naps have been less than an hour long this week. This doesn't make for a happy 16 month old near the end of the day, but we're managing. And hoping and praying that he'll adapt and start taking longer naps on a regular basis!
So blogging was at the bottom of the list when we returned home. The laundry had to get done, the house HAD to get cleaned, (Try leaving an 85 pound lab in your home alone for five days with a nice neighbor who comes by to play, feed, let out and water her and see if you can stand the hair when you get back!), groceries had to be bought, the LATE package for the Sweet Goodness Holiday Swap had to be finished and mailed, the AWESOME package from my SP11 pal had to be opened... You get the idea.
I dug in and got as much work done as I could when the toddler was asleep, but blogging was at the end of the list and I just didn't get there. Until now.
My deepest apologies to Tori, my SP11 pal. She did an awesome job and deserved the recipient of the great FOUR (yep, she sent me an extra package!) boxes she sent to be prompt and forthcoming with resounding thanks! I failed. Here's what Tori sent in my reveal package:

Tori sent me small and large point protectors, a Susan Bates Knit Chek, Learn to Knit Socks, two skeins of Hot Socks cotton stretch, and a skein of Mango Moon hand dyed viscose. The Mango Moon is made in Nepal and is fair trade to help provide for women. I'm thrilled about that. Oh, and I almost forgot about the CHOCOLATE. Two bars of organic milk chocolate, one from Hershey's and one from Green and Black. I dug right in to those! The Hershey's is already half gone...
Thanks to Tori and Juli, my SP10 pal, I have enough sock yarn for two pairs. I can't wait to have time to knit myself some socks. The dash rag I knit is so much better than the store bought kind, it makes me wonder what it feels like to wear hand knit socks. Ahhh, dreams.
