Mitering Along

October 15, 2007

It's been well over a week since my last post. I'm so sorry that I've neglected my blog. I'm just exhausted. We've been SO busy!

I've been trying to get work done on a few pieces for my upcoming show. Yep, I'm booked for a First Friday show, November 2, at the Imago Gallery in the Crossroads here in KC. I'll be sharing the space with another artist from our church. And I'm thrilled to not have to fill the whole space all by myself! We should have postcards soon. I'll post an invite to the blog soon, too.

I broke the no adding to the stash rule last weekend at The Studio fiber festival. I bought roving and yarn. But I'm too lazy to take and post pictures. I'll have those for you soon too. In my defense, it's been so rainy here for the last few days that there really hasn't been much dry time with good light to take pictures. And who wants to get brand new handspun wet?

I finally knit my first miter. It wasn't all that hard, but I'm also not all that happy with it. Apparently I was doing the SSK decreases wrong. And it shows. I figured it out in time for the last row. I should have frogged it all, but I was tired, and it was late. And it's just a dishcloth. I have three more mitered patches in my nine-patch dishcloth to make sure I have it down before I move onto adding miters to something more important... (I should really stop pretending that hubby doesn't know what I'm making for him; he figured it out while I was working on the first of 30 squares of knitting. Smart guy, huh?) Again, pictures soon. Of both the dishcloth and the "surprise".

And then there's the little secret I haven't announced on my blog yet. Yeah, I think it can wait a little longer. It's more fun to keep you guys in suspense.
