Sweet Goodness Swap

September 24, 2007

Yup, I entered another swap. It's the Sweet Goodness Holiday Sister Swap. My partner is Diana. I'm very excited about this one! It will really give me a chance to get to know someone knew.

Here are the questions:

1. Favorite Color: Green!!! Turn out that this is Diana's favorite color, too. I also like blues, reds, and purples.

2. Chocolate Lover? Milk, Dark, White, or none of the above? I love chocolate, especially dark. We really like the super high cocoa content at our house, but I'm also a huge fan of Reese's PB cups.

3. What is your favorite craft hobby? I love to dye fabric and make quilted wall hangings, but I haven't been doing any dying in the last couple of year due to pregnancy and breast feeding. I'm about to use up my entire stash of hand-dyed fabric! :( I've recently started sewing other things, like clothes. I also like to paint and do scrapbooky kinds of things.

4. What is a craft/art hobby that you would like to start? I'd like to learn how to use natural dyes. Things like mushrooms, plants, clays, molds, etc.

5. What craft do you NOT have an interest in or just not great in ( so your partner doesn’t send something you wouldn’t use)? I'll try most anything.

6. Do you have any allergies? (we don’t want to send anything with peanuts if it’ll make you blow up like a balloon!) I don't have any allergies, but hubby is allergic to cats.

7.What’s your favorite part of Halloween? Decorating, candy eating, costumes, or something else? I'm not a big Halloween fan. I try to limit my sugar intake. I guess I do more candy eating and decorating than anything else, but the decorating is all fall themed.

8. Do you decorate for Thanksgiving/Fall? Yes. I have red berries I put on my wall sconces and a fall metal wreath I put on the front door. I'd like to do more...

9. December Holidays--what holiday do you celebrate? What type of decorations do you like to put up in your house for that holiday? We celebrate Christmas and we used to decorate to the hilt. Lights outside, two trees, garland and decor around the house, but with a toddler now I'm not sure how much we'll do. Our kiddo is into everything!

10. Do you have any children, if so what are their ages, boys/girls? We have one boy who is 14 months old.

11. Do you have any pets, if so what kind? We have one dog, an 85 lb. lab mix named Keva.

12. Are you a reader? If so, what type of books do you like? I am a reader. I'll read most anything, but I really like memoirs. I have an Amazon wish list under my email address, but it's mostly knit, dye, and spin books.

13. Are you celebrating a birthday or anniversary in October, November, or December? If so, what day and what is the occasion? Yup. My birthday is December 24.

14. Do you collect anything? If so what type of things do you collect? I collect ornamental iron stars, but with a munchkin around, they haven't gotten unpacked since we moved. I also collect crosses that we hang on a wall in our living room. I guess you could say that I collect yarn and fabric and patterns for sewing and knitting and blogs that I read and cookbooks too...

15. What type of things do you like to cook? Are you an appetizer person, cookie maker, dessert freak or a take out type of person?? I just plain love to cook. I also like take out, though. Especially on those nights when I'm tired and just want instant dinner with very little clean up.

16. What is your favorite scent? Is there one that you can’t stand? Lavender. Real lavender. We keep an all natural home, so we have only natural candles, soaps, etc. with essential oils.

17. What’s your favorite song? Don't really have one. I have a number of artists I really like, U2, Andrew Peterson, Third Day, Indigo Girls ... and others.

18. What’s the last movie you went to see at the movie theater? Harry Potter.

19. What’s your favorite Candy? Reese's PB cups. We break the all natural rule for some things... ;)

20. Tea or Coffee or other? Other. Mostly just water. Sometimes 100% fruit juice. Occasionally just hot chocolate.
