Shelby, my hostess for SP11, is having a contest. She gave us five questions to answer. Here goes:
1. What is the one knitting accessory you could not live without?
I've thought about this one long and hard. I can't knit without needles and yarn, but I suppose that's being too practical. Truthfully, I couldn't live without the people who inspire and receive knitted gifts from me. They think I did something nice for them, but really, they just gave me an excuse to knit!
2. If you're heading on vacation, do you take knitting with you? If
so, how much and what type of project?
I always take knitting with me. I wouldn't be a vacation without it! I usually take something small and easy to work on like a scarf. If we're going to be in the car a lot, or going someplace where I'll have a lot of time to sit around I take several projects in case I finish something. I like to travel with things that don't require me to carry a pattern.
3. Where have you travelled to that you'd consider your favorite spot?
The Texas Hill Country. I've been to Austria, Mexico, the Rockies, and all kinds of other places. There maybe places more beautiful, but none will mean as much to me. I grew up hiking the hills and swimming in the rivers on spring breaks and over summers. I'll always love it there.
4. What is your favorite knitting book at the moment? Do you own it?
At the moment, Mason Dixon Knitting. I can't get enough of it. Log cabin knitting. I really want to knit that cute little curtain for my front door. And my sister-in-law is pregnant. I really want to knit her some of the bibs and a moses basket cover. They even have me thinking about knitting Amish quilt patterns and crib skirts. Plus, I just love reading Ann and Kay's writing; they're so funny.
5. Do you listen to podcasts? Which is your favorite(s)?
I have a very strange relationship with podcasts. If it was all up to me, I probably wouldn't listen to any at all. My lovely hubby very sweetly downloads podcasts that he finds for me to his ipod. Then we listen to them when we're in the car together. We've listed to a lot of The Daily Gizwiz and we're also listening to Jumping Monkeys. Jumping Monkeys rocks for mommies! I don't think he'd endure a knitting podcast. I should probably do those on my own, but my ipod lives in the baby's room now. Maybe I'll get it back someday! Maybe not...
