I've knit and knit and knit in garter stitch lately. This is where I am on the blanket I'm knitting as a part of the Inspired by Nature KAL.

I've gotten much better at picking up stitches in the bound off (BO) edge. That's mostly because I'm learning to BO more loosely. I hope this means that I'm learning to loosen up in other areas of my life as well...
I also made major progress on the desk:

I actually have a desk I can use! I finished it on Friday. I hope to have glowing pictures of my studio for you by this Friday. I have a few small road blocks, though. The baby is about to turn one, so I have a ton of things to get done for his party and cake.
And then there's the little matter of a vacuum. I don't have one anymore. It was kidnapped last week by hubby. He promised me a new one in exchange for my old one, and he whisked it out the door the his studio. Don't get me wrong; I'm thrilled about getting a new vacuum; our old one was going on 8 (yes, that's years...) and was starting to show his age. He was a little finicky about working ALL the time. I guess he'd just need a break for a few seconds every once in a while.
But I digress, there's ankle deep dog hair in my studio right now. I can't believe how much the beast is shedding! So I can't even begin to work down there until I get a vacuum. Sweeping dog hair with a broom is futile; you end up chasing your tail. I found that out this morning when I swept (as best I could) the main floor of the house. Once I'd corralled all the hair and dirt into a few corners, I headed for the dust buster. And it didn't work. Turns out that the "good" dust buster (the one that actually works) is at the studio too. I guess that means I don't have to clean today... ;)
Hmmmm... That means there's more time for knitting...
