Pillows, pillows, pillows, and more pillows

May 30, 2007

I finally finished all the standard size pillow shams for church! I'd love to say that that means I'm finished with the project, but I still have two body pillows to make covers for.

Other than being some what time consuming - I've spent over 20 hours on it so far - it hasn't been too bad. And I was able to pass a portion of the work off to another person late last week. She took the odd size shams that needed sewn and muslin to make inserts for them. My only real complaint is that some of the fabric was fuzzy, like velvet, but not nearly that nice. I've sewn velvet into many of my quilts, but this stuff shifted much more while I worked with it. I'm going to try and make the two body pillow covers without using any of the "fuzzy" fabric so that I don't have to work with it any more.

And I'm taking today off from working on them. It's our anniversary and hubby and I promised each other that we wouldn't work tonight. That's gonna be hard for both of us - I have the pillows to finish and he has the grand opening of his gallery for First Friday's in KC's Crossroads District on Friday. But we at least own it toeach other to sit on the couch and watch a movie to honor our nine years together!

I think that's enough pillow talk for now!
