Looming over my head

February 18, 2007

I finally bought a loom. I literally spent years deciding which one to buy. We saved so we could afford a large enough loom that I wouldn't need to upgrade right away. I placed the order about six weeks before my son was born. In my defense, he was two and a half weeks early. I figured that it would arrive a month or so before he was born, giving me plenty of time to get it assembled and threaded for a project that I could work on after he was born. Only two problems - our son was early and my loom was late.

The loom finally arrived about the time my little one turned two months old. I've hardly had time to check and make sure all the parts are there. Five months later and I still haven't even put the heddles on it yet. I currently have a loom in my basement that is looming over my head!

I decided not to let it bother me. I figure that there'll be plenty of time to weave after I've gotten through the first year of motherhood. At some point I'll be able to do something besides naptime, diaper changes, and laundry. So, dor the time being, the loom is still looming over me.
