True confessions of an art teacher. On my way to work this morning I was thinking about the breakfast potlucks we used to have at the last school where I worked. They involved lots and lots of donuts, pastries, and sometimes even eggs. I really wanted a donut.
I arrived at work and walked right past the three leftover cupcakes from someone's birthday earlier in the week. I even managed to take my plain yogurt, blackberries, and raw honey with me to bus duty. I was about three bites into my intended, healthy breakfast when the announcement was made. Our principal declared that she appreciated all our hard work this week and there were donuts in the lounge.
I, therefore, traded my blackberries and yogurt for a chocolate covered donut this morning. I broke my rule: Never eat anything from off a table in the lounge unless I put it there as a part of my lunch. Occassionally, you catch the dog or a child doing something they shouldn't and they give you the "It was SO worth it!" look when they receive their consequences. I know I had that look on my face this morning when I finished my bus duty with a donut in my hand.
Happy Friday. I hope your donut was as good as mine!
