My husband started a photoblog. Blogging already intrigued me; then I KNEW someone with a really cool blog, an outlet for his creativity, a microphone to the world wide web. And I HAD to have one.
I thought about being one of those people who blogs about no particular subject. I thought about starting my own photoblog. Neither of those ideas was a perfect fit for me. I am an art teacher and a textile artist. I needed a place to share both stories and photos, and I wanted a focus for my work. I was afraid that I would ramble on and on and bore you to death. I searched and searched for the perfect idea.
And then I got a picture mail from my sister-in-law. It was titled "Look what I did at school today" and showed her with some strange blue band around her head vertically. It looked painful. I responded, however, because I too was at school; just as a teacher, not a student. I sent a picture of whatever example I had just finished for my students.
As I mulled over the exchange, I realized that as an art teacher I have a ton to share. Not only pictures of examples I create for my K-6 students, but also little stories of the cute things they say and do. So, welcome to "what I did at school today".
There's just one little problem. It's the beginning of summer, and I'm not teaching summer school or even crafts at VBS this year. So, I guess I'll be sharing stories from last year and just rambling about those things that a teacher does during the summer for the next few weeks. Feel free to let me know what you think.
