So I did some sewing

We’ve been going through some transitions around here of late, and, as such, I have not had much time for anything other than parenting. We are finally starting to settle in to our next new normal. I am very thankful that I finished the boys’ costumes last week right before all of this started; it left this mama free to be there when they needed me most. The bigger boy is making the giant leap to a bed and having the expected difficulties with the gains in independence; we’re weathering a WAY over tired kiddo who is finidng his way with sleep once again. The smaller one is cutting four molars, yep, FOUR!, right now, and, has been the case with this one so far, they are taking their sweet time coming in. I feel bad for the little guy, he’s spending a significant amount of time awake at night, and still wanting someone to hold him more often than not. I learned today that you can use a can opener while holding a toddler! To complicate the issues, we’ve all had some kind cold that just doesn’t want to quit; the boys have both had it the hardest. I do think the Maker’s Diet and kombucha are both really helping me fight this stuff off. As if that wasn’t all enough, poor Hubby is having to handle all of this stuff at home during the two busiest weeks he has ever had; he’s in the midst of shooting 4 weddings in 8 days right now.

I managed to get the toddler down for his nap, and the preschooler coralled in his room for his rest time long enough this afternoon to whip up a slip cover for a guestbook for one of Hubby’s clients. It was one of those things that HAD to get done today, and I’m really glad that it did. It was great to get back in to my space, to find my groove again. It’s always nice to get back down to the studio after a big shake up occurs around here. Of course, I had a fight with the sewing machine, and managed to make a 20 minutes project take nearly an hour, but it’s a start. Hopefully I’ll manage more time again soon, and I can get started on some big projects soon!

And somehow, in the midst of all that sickness and sleeplessness, you managed to send the coolest swap gifts! Just received my bundle of goodies this afternoon, and am enjoying them all so much… THANK YOU! My head is full of fun ideas… perhaps I will store them in Chester Avery’s box. :)
